We moved here last January and have always been good in keeping up the maintenance of our vehicles. We had a very good mechanic that we had used for many years and were hoping to find someone here in Carson City that would also be a good mechanic, reliable and trustworthy. I used Capitol Automotive for the first time and was very pleased with my experience with them. John, the front desk receptionist explained what was done and what would be needed in the future. I felt good after picking up my vehicle and will surely use them again.

Went in for a brake issue, left with an engine issue. Weird coincidence, probably not. Now my truck is parked with a blown cylinder and I’m SOL.

Thank you for taking my call Barbara. I'm sorry that the truck is having a cylinder 1 misfire. It sounds like someone may have read the code for you and that your check engine light is on. If the light is not flashing it would be safe to drive it here. If you change your mind about having us check it at no charge, having it towed here at no charge, or even having us come to you and check it at no charge, we would be happy to do so. Capitol Automotive is conscientious down to the smallest job and detail. Recently one of my turn signal lights burned out, I brought in my car, turned out the socket was overheating. After ordering the replacement only to find the part had changed and no longer fit in my 2012 Fusion, Jeremy located the proper original part, ordered it and replaced both the socket and the bulb. This shop and its people are great. Kudos to Jeremy and Capitol Automotive for this job and excellent work in the past. I'm with them for life. Cheers, and God bless.

They always do a good job on my car but only problems are that they don't work on older cars and are a little expensive.

Hi Aaron, thank you so much for your business and for taking the time to leave a review. Our apologies, we no longer work on any vehicles older than 1999. We have found that parts for those vehicles are getting more difficult to find and cause delays in the repairs. I agree that we are not the cheapest shop in the area. I believe that we provide a good value commensurate with our pricing because of things like our 3-year/36k nationwide warranty and our free shuttle service; but I know those things are not important to all customers. Thanks again!
