Their quality of work is fine but they charge double what every other shop in town does. Quoted me almost $1,000 to replace a radiator. I went and had it done for <$500 elsewhere and it's running fine. Don't get me wrong, they'll fix you up good, but it'll cost you an eyeball.
Thank you for your review - because even negative ones help us improve! It appears that we didn't do a good job of explaining our fees and warranty. We are definitely not the cheapest for some items but that is because we select parts that we believe will last long term because we provide a warranty on everything we do. These parts can be OEM or higher-quality aftermarket. We have seen so many parts fail recently (that we then replace at our expense) that we are installing higher quality parts and that could have made up the price difference. Our hourly labor rate for domestic vehicles is $145 which I believe is the mid to high range of certified independent repair shops and below our local dealerships. I was even told this morning that our oil changes are cheaper than the lube shops. We are definitely not a fit for a customer looking for the lowest price because many places in town will do the repair cheaper than we will. Also, if a customer intends to get rid of a vehicle soon it might make more sense to go somewhere cheaper. We believe where we add value is in the quality of the work and our guarantee. We also provide free shuttle service and free multi-point inspection. Additionally, we have remote pay and pickup/drop off options. All those extras, and the fact that every one of our technicians is a master factory or ASE certified technician, causes our pricing to be a bit higher than some other shops. We fill a necessary niche in Carson City; but we know we aren't a fit for everyone. If we didn't do a good job explaining our business model and how we feel that provides value to our customers I apologize! I tried to look up a recent radiator quotation - because we also could have made an error when quoting over the phone (in case we didn't have the right VIN for example). Neither of my service advisors remember recently quoting a radiator and you didn't post your name so I am unable to see the quote we provided.
