They upsale repairs not needed immediately. Also if they refuse to to do any repairs such as alignments they will still charge you. Learned a valuable lesson today dealing with Marcus and this shop. DO NOT GO.

I am sorry that we let you down Josh. I was surprised at how upset you were when you came to pick up the vehicle. I don't think we actually got to talk about what we saw. If you would like to discuss this with me please call me at 775-443 7241 it is my cell phone number.

Good informative first visit. They stated they have a well qualified VW mechanic on staff.

Thank you for your review! If you have the time, we would really appreciate knowing what we could have done to receive a five-star rating - as this is our goal for every customer interaction. Thank you!

I originally had given a 5 star rating. The first time I took my vehicle in they charged a $110 diagnostic. Hoping they will actually diagnose my leak and of course the check engine light. I got my van back after the first "repair" and paid for the amount of the repair just to have my vehicle leaking more fluid than before and the check engine light came back on. I took it back. They notice they over filled my transmission fluid and they had to drain some of the fluid and then reset the check engine light "assuming" (their words not mine) that draining that and making it the correct level to fix the check engine light. They did an oil change which now my car keeps showing I need to change my oil still so they never reset that. Well surprise surprise my check engine light came back on. I came in for a 3rd time to be told I would be charged again but they were going to flush my coolant system and check something else out with the transmission. I call and get told they had to run tests and didn't do any work but strangely the invoice amount was still the $231 they quoted for a coolant flush and other stuff for the transmission. I go pick up my van and they charged 2 testing fees of $110 and some material fee. Kinda weird that the first diagnose test they should have checked fully so I wouldn't have to come back 3 times and have to pay 3 diagnose fees just because they dont know how to do it the first time. Sadly they lost all my trust along with some others close to me that had done business with them and will no longer. I dont feel anyone should have to pay these fees over and over of they didnt do it correctly the first time as they should have. I should have charged fees for each time I had to miss work for their lazy diagnostic testing that caused me to go without a vehicle.

I apologize for the frustration Jenn, 1st diagnostic fee was to figure out what was leaking so badly. 2nd was to figure out why the vehicle computer believes the vehicle is not reaching operating temperature. The third was to determine what the internal transmission problem was. As I stated I was hoping the fluid leak problem would solve the internal transmission problem, but it did not. Testing is currently the hardest part of the automotive industry right now. As for not resetting the maintenance light, that is inexcusable and I will do that if you bring it back.

This was one of the best experiences I have had in Carson City related to my car and people in general. My parents moved from Southern California and we haven't been able to find people we trust but this visit changed all of that. Michelle got us in when I thought my hopes for getting an alignment were going to be delayed by a week. I couldn't get in anywhere else. Michelle was great. Thank you so much for your professionalism and kindness. It is really greatly appreciated. We will come back for all of our automotive and mechanical needs.

Thank you for your review and patronage we appreciate you!

BEWARE! They damaged my car . They sent it to the ford dealer in reno to repair it. I got it back with more damage. THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR IT. Even though i have two mechanics they say it was not damaged before going into capital auto. BE SAFE TAKE YOUR CAR ELSE WHERE

I sincerely apologize for the damage done to your left cylinder head on your 6.4 Diesel. We paid for the replacement of both cylinder heads and many many more items, along with a rental truck for the entire time the vehicle was being repaired. Anything is possible, however the damage you are claiming happened during the repair does not logically make sense to me, this is why I am reluctant to pay for the additional items. If the mechanics that verified the damage was not there prior to the repair can reach out to me or put something in writing, and it makes sense that this is Capitol Automotives responsibility, I will consider repairing. I do appreciate the professional manner in which you handled this terrible inconvenience, and I apologize for the damage.

Uuh... Its a free country, and you can review any business you want, but turning in an employment application with liquor on your breath at 10am, not getting an interview, does not warrant a 3 star review. You seem like a guy I would want to go camping with, not drive and fix other peoples cars though.

Very happy to recommend Capitol Automotive. I went for an alignment. When other (chain) shops would only align my car until it was “in the green”, Capitol went the extra distance to dial-in the alignment until it was right ... the work attitude of craftsmen.

Thanks Tom, we hope your car is still traveling straight down the road. :)
